Phillips Center & Park

This neighborhood community center is located on 36-acres in the southern sector of the City. Erected in 1966, this Community Center was named for former Mayor Vic Phillips who was instrumental in promoting recreation for the citizens of Gastonia. The building houses a full-size gymnasium, weight room, game room, kitchen and staff office. The outdoor amenities include a lighted multipurpose athletic field, three small practice fields, a walking track, four lighted tennis courts, two lighted sand volleyball courts, lighted skate area with four ramps, two Bocce courts, playground, and a large picnic shelter.
