DANCING IN THE STREET RETURNS TO HISTORIC DOWNTOWN BELMONT
FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE CONCERT SERIES MAKES A COMEBACK IN 2018!

Belmont, North Carolina - Plan now to attend one of Carolina's largest summer concert series as Friday Night Live returns to Downtown Belmont in 2018. The event has been tremendously popular with average concert attendance from 6,000 - 8,000, establishing Belmont as the "Friday Night Place to be".

The Downtown Belmont Development Association (DBDA) has partnered with the City of Belmont to revive the series following a one year break while an organizing partner was sought. The DBDA is excited to continue the tradition of the Friday Night Live series that the Belmont Merchants Association successfully produced for ten years.

"It is a great spring-summer event that allows people from all around to enjoy our great city and have a good time. I am excited to have the Friday Night Live venue back in Main Street again", said Mayor Charlie Martin. "I know that most of our citizens will be looking forward to it", Martin added.

The 2018 schedule includes four concerts held on various Fridays in May and June. The fifth and final concert in the summer series, combined with the Red, White, & Belmont festival on Wednesday, July 4 and will end with a fireworks display.

A beverage garden, kid's activity zone, and foodtrucks are planned to compliment the great collection of restaurants and pubs in the downtown district. The concerts are held on South Main Street adjacent to Stowe Park from 6:00pm to 10:00pm. Event parking will be a little easier this year with recently upgraded and additional public parking areas, including a new public lot located right in the event area on Mill Street.

The City of Belmont received overwhelming feedback from citizens and fans supporting the return of the concerts. A committee was formed last summer to initiate plans to bring the series back this year. "The Two Rivers Shag Club is looking forward to Belmont's Friday Night Live beach music concert series this summer!" stated Kevin Carr, club president and FNL committee member. "The City of Belmont has partnered with the DBDA to put together a strong line up for all you beach music and shagging fans. Two Rivers will be there and we hope you are too!" Carr added. Vendor, sponsor, volunteer, and non-profit opportunities are available.
